Founded in 1998, Wild Blue Yonder started with 2 boats and 18 wetsuits, and the owners lived in a campground! Now, we have 2 locations: Grande Cache and Revelstoke! Between the 2 locations, we have 3 buses, 15 boats and we can put 75 people down the river! Both locations have a facility with change rooms, and booking offices. Plus, we have multi-day packages with activities and accommodations for groups of up to 250 people!

Wild Blue Yonder is dedicated to providing a safe and fun outdoor experience. We meet or exceed industry standards, and hold authorization permits or access agreements with government and industry. We carry $2 million liability insurance on trips & vehicles and belong to the Professional River Outfitters Association of Alberta and the British Columbia River Outfitters Association.

THE OWNERS: General Manager and Founder, Gina Goldie, has been an entrepreneur for over 30 years. Her strong business skills, combined with a national designation in graphic design, has made Gina into a versatile content developer and marketing wizard. And, when she's not designing a marketing campaign or managing the office, she might be taking a group down the river as a class 3+ raft guide! Gina is also the current president of the Professional River Outfitters Association of Alberta.

Operation Manager and co-owner, Johannes Zwart, or Yo as he's usually known, has over 30 years of experience as a guide: canoeing, dog-sledding, rafting and many other skills, making him a well-rounded Team Leader. Yo has a Kinesiology degree from Western University, and a diploma from the prestigious adventure tourism program at Thompson Rivers University. He has been an Examiner with the Professional River Outfitters Association of Alberta and the British Columbia River Outfitters Association since 2000, and a Swiftwater Rescue Instructor with Royal LifeSaving Society since 2001.

THE CRAZY RIVER STAFF: Who we are today is due largely to the help of some wonderful family, staff and volunteers. We are still a family run operation: Gina's son Freeman and his partner, Annie, are managers. Our other guides and staff are featured on the Guides & Staff page.

KEEPING IT SAFE!
Certification: Our guides are trained to the highest standards, licensed by the Professional River Outfitters Association of Alberta, and certified in first aid and in Swiftwater Rescue. Trip leaders also have Wilderness First Aid certification.
Risk Management: Our training, operation, risk management and emergency response procedures are externally audited. We carry liability insurance, transportation authority, and we meet or exceed federal rafting regulations. Copies of our Emergency Response and Risk Assessment procedures are available upon request.
